Harlech Beach |Welcome to the Rhyd yr Eirin webpage - a unique holiday cottage in the hills near Harlech in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
Situated in the hills above Harlech, in an idyllic and secluded location, Rhyd yr Eirin is a lovingly restored 17th century farmhouse, which has now been in our family for over 50 years. With spectacular views of sea and mountains, it's a delightful spot for both adults and children.
Rhyd yr Eirin sleeps a maximum of eight people (in two double bedrooms and a family room with a double bed and two singles). Sheep-friendly dogs are welcome by arrangement.
The cottage is traditionally furnished, and has a modern kitchen, bathroom and shower room. The beautiful oak-beamed sitting room, with sofa and armchairs arranged around an inglenook with cosy open fire, is a wonderfully atmospheric place.
The garden has a sandpit, see-saw and play-house for children. The surrounding area abounds in wildlife, and there are some fine walks right from the house.
Harlech is three miles away, with its wonderful castle and superb four mile long beach, ideal for picnics in the dunes, jogging, swimming, kites and walks. In easy reach within the Snowdonia National Park there is a wide choice of activities, including hill walking, cycling, mountain climbing and biking, golf, sailing, canoeing and white-water rafting. Also nearby is the Ffestiniog mountain railway, and Portmeirion.
Our library of books and guides at the cottage provides detailed information on the huge range of both outdoor and indoor activities in the area.
